About Aoife
Aoife Rudman is a ceramic artist currently based in Gloucestershire whose love of the outdoors prompted her move from London and now strongly informs her work, which explores natural forms, textures and colours.
After studying ceramics at school, she took a five-year break from the medium before returning to clay during her final year of a BA in Design at Goldsmiths University, graduating in 2024. Her distinctive work was shown in her degree show and subsequently in further exhibitions such as The Holy Art Gallery ; following interest from that exposure, Aoife committed to developing the project further.
She primarily works with mould-making and slip-casting, and her current Connections Collection draws on bird’s-eye views of organic, floral shapes, with each piece glazed in variations that echo nature’s textures, colours and patterns.
In addition to producing her own collections, Aoife regularly undertakes private commissions and collaborations, and her practice continues to evolve through experimentation and lived experience.
'‘I make pieces you feel drawn to touch, to interact with, I think its important for art to lure you in though its tactility”
